Features of Luggage

The first feature of concern should be the durability of the
bags. Will they survive the rough handling when traveling? Will
the locks hold? Durability is important whether you are a
recreational or frequent traveler.

Expandable luggage is great for short trips and will allow you
to pack more in one bag. They can be great carry on bags that
will hold your various needs of the next twenty-four hours or
so. They are great to have if you are planning on bringing back
souvenirs.

Other features include laptop compatibility, luggage with pull
bars, luggage with telescoping handles, and luggage with wheels.
There is upright luggage and horizontal luggage that will meet
different needs. Consider the weight of the luggage itself
because it will add to the weight allowance of the traveling
company.

Including water resistant bags is great if you will be swimming
while traveling as they will hold wet bathing suits and towels
nicely without saturating other items. Scratch resistant luggage
will retain its initial appearance for a much longer time.

Adjustable or removable outer straps help identify your luggage
and prevent it from popping it open. Some luggage have inner
elastic straps to hold items in place. Toiletry cases are
included in some luggage sets as well as totes that will hold
your books or other traveling activities. Free luggage tags are
sometimes available free with your luggage.

Consider the material of the luggage. Sturdy nylon fabric such
as the stuff gym bags and backpacks are made. This fabric can
also be waterproof. The hard frames of some luggage take the
brutal handling in baggage areas better than soft luggage might
be. Look for the features you want and you will likely find
them.
